Our team from Southeastern returned Saturday April 3, 2010 from Chicago. Thank you to those who helped and most of all to everyone who prayed.

I will be joining a team of 16 Southeasterners March 27 – April 3, 2010 in downtown Chicago to engage the people of the city with the Gospel and recon a specific neighborhood targeted already by two members of the team for a church plant next spring.
Some facts: The Greater Metro Chicago area is home to over nine million people including approximately 2,000 people groups speaking over 200 languages. Evangelical churches claim only 5.5 percent of the population (only 1 percent Southern Baptist). Of Chicago’s 50,000+ college students, nearly 98 percent are unengaged by any evangelical presence. Being sold out for Christ is being willing to take risks, being willing to leave everything. Seeing no value in titles or salaries, you have to be willing to follow Jesus anywhere.
Are you be prepared to risk it all? No back up plan?
That was the challenge from Dr. Jim Shaddix in Chapel on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, preaching from Ezra 8:21-23.

So, let’s say you are walking through the mass transit station in Singapore and you happen upon this sign.
No Smoking, eating and drinking, no flammables, yea, I get that. But, durians? What? It looks like some kind of grenade or a bomb or something? And it is, kinda. Only, more on that in a second.
Let’s say it was your first trip to that part of the world, or if you are like me and you have have never even been to that part of the world, you might not know a durian is a fruit (Wikipedia).
The Zeal of Zacchaeus – Luke 19:1-10Most of us have heard the story: Jesus is walking through Jericho… Zacchaeus the Tax Collector comes out to see him. Being a wee fellow (i.e. Zacchaeus is short), he can’t see, so he climbs up a sycamore tree. The story continues, Jesus sees him up there and calls him by name: “Zacchaeus, (more…)

Dr. David Platt is Pastor of The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham AL. This powerful message on Mark 10 touches on the Rich Young Ruler, on materialism and on what the Holy Spirit really does with people who really do surrender to Him. This message is still being talked about on campus. My hope is that you will watch it and listen to it and pray for the Lord to move in you.

Some things are just so cool you can’t help but share them. And this is one of them.
We just posted a video of our awesome day in the snow yesterday in Wake Forest! I sure hope y’all enjoy it!
It makes me think, though. Most of us are keen to share the cool things in our lives with the ones we love. So the question really is: what do you think is really cool, and who do you really love?
Eph 5:20

Hello! My name is Boe Ellis. With my wife Connie and our six kids, we want to welcome you to a Blog dedicated to the glory of Jesus Christ and the advancement of His Kingdom.
I am 42 years old and working curently on a Master of Divinity degree at Southeastern Baptist Theologiacal Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. As such, I am living daily in a place where the Holy Spirit is convicting Christians to take the Gospel to the nations and lead and disciple mena nd women to know and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.
The purpose of this Blog is to bring the sermons, sermon notes, classes, class notes, books, book reviews, essays, columns and quick commentaries, the missions, missionaires and mission trips that I happen upon here in the seminary founded in 1957. One of six Southern Baptist seminaries, Southeastern is led by Dr. Danny Akin and a faculty committed to Christ, to the absolute inerrancy of the Bible and to Great Commission.
I sincerely hope this Blog will bless you and lead you to seek and discover a closer realtionship with the creator of the universe who came to Earth as a man, died on a cross for your sins (and the sins of the world) and rose again in three days to prove He was God. I am serving currently in ministry in communications with groups like Mission Focus, All-Pro Pastors and Tampa Bay leadership Prayer Breakfast. I am a member of First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace, in Tampa, and attending Wakefield Baptist Church in Wake Forest. I work as an independent marketing consulting to ministries and small businesses.
